Ink series for printing on plastic tubes: Introduction of 955LED-LM sets new standards

This innovative screen printing ink is available on the market now and combines three decisive, forward-looking properties: 955LED-LM is low-migration, silicone-free and has a pure LED curing system.

A great benefit of 955LED-LM is the low-migration formulation. These series meets the stringent requirements of the “Swiss Ordinance SR 817.023.21”, “EuPIA Suitability List of Photoinitiators” and the current “Nestlé Guidance Note on Packaging Inks” These ink series is free from ITX, benzophenone and 4-methylbenzophenone (4-MBP) and free of bisphenol A formulated. Barium-free, low-odor and therefore particularly suitable for external printing of plastic packaging for the food and cosmetics industry.

The completely silicone-free adjustment of the 955LED-LM is a further benefit. All products can be easily combined with other ink systems, varnishes and embossing. Due to optimal pigment wetting and ideal combination of basic inks, the ink in the printing of pre-treated PE tubes ensure an optimal flow and achieve a result with exceptionally gloss.

955LED-LM is a pure LED-curing system: additional UV-curing in form of a hybrid system is not required. The ink cures even with an LED output of only 8 W/cm². However, it can also be cured using conventional UV technology – an important aspect for printers, as they benefit from higher flexibility. The new inks can even be applied at printing speeds of 100 pcs/min as they are highly reactive and exhibit excellent adhesion and elasticity.

The product range of the series 955LED-LM includes 11 basic colours, transparent white, process colours, opaque white, opaque black and corresponding overprint varnishes.

With the above ink series, RUCO Druckfarben once again demonstrates that it meets market demands with a forward-thinking and application-specific product portfolio.
